So i was recommended by Seffers93 to Walgreens for a humidifier. Here's some pics of it while I was setting it up and after install. I went to Home Depot for the hose. I got a universal 6' dish washer hose and it worked perfectly.
All the goods I picked up. I got white duct tape in the paint section at Home Depot. I also got a daily journal to keep track of things. Had also found some really small single outlet timers at HD for $4.99 and a mister which was the same price as my standard squirt bottle from the reptile store.
It's almost like the hose was meant for it.
I took the plug out of the port above. If you remove the screw on the bottom the adjustable slider cover will come off.
Here it is after the cover was removed. Now you can't just put it back in the same way, you're going to have to reinstall it upside down to work which ill show below.
This has to be put back in upside down.
The hose fits perfectly.
I plan on getting some silicon and permanently sealing this on to the unit but for the time being all I have is the white duct tape. I didn't expect everything to fit so well otherwise I would have picked that up on my HD trip.
Here I had to improvise again. For now I'm using the light clamp to hold the hose up.
Here it is in action. I'm going to make a funnel system to spread it out more.
He doesn't know what to make of it yet.
My only concern is how cold the vapor is coming out but hopefully it doesn't affect my temps much if at all. I set it on a timer as well so it doesn't soak the place. Timer is set to the following schedule...
9am on
10:30am off (lights and heater on)
12:30pm on
1:30pm off
3:30pm on
5:30pm off
Etc.
Etc.
So it's 1 hr on and 2 off.
Let me know if this is an ok schedule.
Cool thing is where the vapor enters it drips water so no need for a dripper.
Ps. This is all temp. I'm pretty handy at making just about anything from most materials so I plan on making a top rack to hold all my lights and the vapor tube. . I'm new to the hobby so the more I understand things the more my mind starts to race coming up with cool ideas to make things to better my set up. First I'm going to make a stand out of metal (I'm a metal fabricator) then go from there.
My fingers are crossed the picture links work. This is the first time posting pictures from photobucket app on my phone. Any input is always appreciated.
Thanks for lookin!
