Gotta question bout my male beardie....

Hey all:)

So I've been keeping beardies for quite a long time but my one male has me stumped right now. I've been raising this pair of beardies since they were hatchings together and just tonight separated them for the first time because they're pretty much both adults now and wanted to breed them in the spring. They've always gotten along really well, they'd chase each other around once in a while and head bob here and there but slept together every night and really got along well. The female is tickled pink right now having her own "room" finaly but the male is going absolutely BALISTIC. He's in full fired up black beard colors and running all over, head bobbing so hard he looks like he could knock himself out. Any thoughts as to why he's so friggin mad? Does he miss his friend? I've never seen a beardie act like this after separating them before, when put together sure, but not taken apart. How long will it take him to calm down and what can I do to help him?

Could he be seeing his reflection or is the female on the other side of him?

When I switched my bearded dragon male from his 40 gallon to a custom enclosure he (I believe) kept seeing his reflection in my TV.

I don't think reptiles make relationships like we do, though when I separated my leopard gecko females, one of my females became super inactive

Just guessing. He could be showing this behavior because he is now in his own territory. Hes the man, its his territory and no ones taking it. Almost like they are scared, so they show dominance behavior to warn anything off.

Either way, he will calm down and this will go away. I bought a pair of bearded dragons a few years back that had been raised together and when i separated them the male displayed this exact behavior.
