Gravid female not going in the soil

I have a female veiled chameleon and she is gravid so I put a laying bin (5 gallon bucket 50/50 sand and soil and have a plant in there to) and she is just staying in the plant and not going to the soil just basking in the plant-- what should I do????

leave her be and don't let her see you... she could be nervous of you watching her. they consider you a threat to their eggs, and if she sees you she could easily become eggbound

Ok I have an towel over her cage but could noise be a problem, it can be very noisy and when I peaked behind the towel she was still basking

chameleon's only have inner ears, so they can only hear vibrations unlike you and me. just leave her be for the night and don't peek until tomorrow (as hard as it may be lol) and no problem good luck!
