Gravid Female Veiled (?)

I apologized for starting another post on this topic. I did a search and could not find answers and was not sure if I should add to someone else's post.

I have a 7 month old female Veiled who I think is gravid, and she has not attempted to lay her eggs yet (not fertile). I am concerned that there is something wrong and I do not want her to get egg bound.
Info:
Stopped eating 2 days ago
Moves around the cage a lot
Her coloring has changed, although she does not get as dark as some pictures I see posted here. Mostly slightly darker green with black spots/blotches
I do not see individual egg shapes on her sides but she is chubby where the eggs would show
She has a container (6+" deep) of moist sand in her cage. I have seen her walk through it but no signs of digging. I even placed cloth along the bottom sides of the cage for privacy.

Her screen cage is a correct normal setup with lights/plants/heat/moisture

I had my male Veiled next to her (with a curtain blocking view). The last couple of weeks they both acted like they knew the other was on the other side of the curtain. Both paced back and forth showing various coloring. At this point ( 4 days ago) I moved the male and placed a male Jackson in that spot. The jack did nothing to show me he thought/knew another cham was on the other side (I understand they are different species), but the female still is pacing around.

I think I stated everything . . . thoughts? Anything else I should try to help with the egg laying?

Thanks

Jim

My girl only showed dark gravid colors twice-once after she was bred and once while she was in the actual process of laying. 6" is not a big enough container-she will need one at least 10-12" deep and wide enough that she can fit her entire body in comfortably. Mine stopped eating a week before she laid-and she dug for several days. She may not be ready yet or your container may not be suitable. Cover up her cage all the way up the sides so that she can not see anyone, and try not to look in on her except to water and feed so she doesn't abondon the process and get eggbound. Other chams next to her should not be an issue as long as she cannot see them.

Mine was very picky...her display of being gravid wasn't as wild as some of the pictures I've seen, she didn't even stop eating. Anyways, try switching the medium...mine likes wet sand, she won't dig in anything else...maybe yours is picky like mine. Or, give her more privacy...I put mine in a 32 gallon trashcan and left her alone for all 14 hours of digging.

Thanks for the tips! I will get a larger container for her and cover up ALL of the cage.

I am having trouble finding clean sand this time of year. Any suggestions as to what else to use?

Thanks again

Jim
