Gravid?

I'm worried my little one is gravid. She's been roaming her viv more than usual. It's actually weird, she's been crawling to the Itty bitty pot that I have some lucky bamboo planted in, while there is a rather large pot right next to it. She's never really crawled on it until now. She's showing a little darker colors with pinks. She's not looking any bigger person but she's kind of a little fat kid to begin with. Still eating like normal, drinking as far as I know. Only out of the ordinary is the constand roaming and her color. I can post pics here in a little but as well.

Also what's the best way to do a laying bin? Do I leave her lights on for the entire time? Do I feed her? Leave her be? What about water? So confusing.

Thanks for all your help!

If she is trolling around the bottom of the cage and scoping out the potted plants she may very well have eggs. I would definitely have a lay bin in your enclosure. You can use a bathroom sized trash can, a bucket or large plastic pot. Just make sure she has 12' to dig. Also, make sure there is a branch or vine that leads to it to make it easy to climb to. My girl likes washed play sand the best, but you can also mix it with organic potting soil. Either way, make sure it is damp enough to hold a tunnel (stick your finger in it and pull it out, if it stays you are good). Cover her cage with a sheet and leave her alone- a girl needs her privacy! Other than that you can keep the light and misting schedule the same. After she lays, she will want a drink and may be hungry. Be sure to dust her food with calcium, egg laying is taxing. Good Luck!

Here are a few taken a little bit ago. :) I was surprised how happy she was to come out!

She is definitely displaying non-receptive adult female colors. If she is gravid she doesn't appear ready to lay eggs for some time. Normally, it takes about 30 days from the end of the receptive period to egg laying. If she's a virgin she may or may not develop eggs, you'll have to watch her behavior and physical appearance to determine if she's gravid. A laying bin is never a bad idea, just in case you miss the cues. In any case, now is the time to cut back on her food intake a little so she doesn't develop too many eggs.

Well I just ordered her a new, bigger viv and it's on the way. Should I still transfer her over when it gets here and set up or should I wait? The new would would accommodate a laying bin soooo much easier.

Yes like was said she don't look gravid, or just barely if she is. So you would have time to transfer her to her new enclosure, and set up her laying ben. Hope this helped.
