Grow lights

I'm still getting my stuff ready and just letting plants grow out, but I got the Sansi 100W for $49 (30% off) during their current Mother's Day Sale. They have sales fairly often apparently, so check their actual website instead of Amazon. It's very bright and hot enough (150-160+F sitting on the screen) that I might consider using it as a heat lamp instead of the classic incandescent.

Those temps are to high for any Cham iam sure you know that though

Didn’t relise those senti put out that much heat if I get those I’ll probably need a dimmer
It came with a basic dial dimmer on the back, but I haven't played with it much. It seemed kind of like a toaster where 0-2 are fine tuned and everything else is just full blast.

I'd advocate for not leaving any light directly on the screen , be it t5 basking or led , the chameleon can and likely will at some point climb on the screen and then your leaving the opportunity for burns.

After reading thru this I used a temp prob and the sansi put out about 100° with the prob about and inch below on top of the screen, another prob just below the screen is reading 78. Just to verify the probes we're accurate I then switched the probe locations and got the same readings

So as long as our Basking branch is down a few inches from the screen top I don't see the LED heat becoming an issue.
