Halogen Lighting Good/Bad

Hey everybody,

Quick question I have a very happy healthy 4 month old Vieled named Galileo. I have been using an extra ikea 25 wtt halogen light on the lower right hand side of the enclosure for the plants is this okay for him ? I am not worried about the heat I just want to make sure this type of bulb is safe for his eyes. Ill post pic later.

Its safe for his eyes yes, but I would not advise dumping heat into the bottom of the cage like that. Chameleons need a gradient and that is throwing it off.

Also you say its for the plants lower plants I am guessing? If you want a light for the plants, get a grow light that halogen is doing little if at all for the plants. They need fluorescent lighting, or some grow leds.
