Hand Feeding?

I am thinking about teaching my chameleon to hand or cup feed to get him used to me. However, I'm worried that he'll become dependent on me to feed him and stop hunting. Will he get lazy and no longer free range feed if I occasionally hand feed him?

it shouldn't be a promblem if you let him free range once in a while

My chameleon primarily hand-feeds. He still will eat out of a cup and LOVES his food to be free ranged, so I have started to do more of that. He loved to catch Soldier Flys!

I was just feeding my panther chameleon meal worms out of my hand the other day, and he took a quick glance beside him, saw a cricket, and snatched it quick. My guess he loves a variety.
