Handling my new veiled

I have owned my young veiled chameleon now for a week and have handled it about a half dozen times. Each time his coloration changes to where he seems to become brighter and lighter green than usual. No hissing, he sits content on my finger. Is it safe to say that as time goes on, this particular chameleon is "ok" with occasionally being handled. Or should i just assume they all become stressed at those times and leave him be 24/7. Btw I love the forums and photo galleries. Glad to have joined and become a proud Cham owner.

Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you are enjoying the info and friendliness of it :)

If he is turning bright colors, then I would say he enjoys being handled by you :) If he were turning dark like brown or black, that would be a red flag to let him be and give him his space.

Comfy

There have been times where he just closes his eyes and snuggles in

Try to resist too much handling, he's not been with you very long and closing of eyes is a sign he's a little bothered. Like if I close my eyes it will go away.
Keep associating your hand with good stuff. I'm sure he will do great.

i agree with kath.take it slow and let him get used to you being around.
