Is it ok not to handle ur chams at all? Cause I got mine when he was about 4 months old and he has never let me get near him..i have gon from under him but he just hisses and lunges at me..he lets me clean his cage though so Im guessing as long as i can go in the cage to clean it will be fine if i dont handle him...What do you think? Should i put a glove on and force him to be handled? I wouldnt think that is smart but let me know...thanks

Its fine to handle the chameleons, as long as they let you. My male hisses and sways at me, opens his mouth while doing so, so we tend to leave him alone. The Female we have does the same. But if we need too we handle them.

no need to do it.
If he does not like to be handled.. that is fine.. and i would leave him alone.
He will get used to you sooner or later.

I have a very fiesty adult male veiled who likes to hiss and try to bite. If I have to get him out of the cage, I usually distract him with one hand (right hand for the description) and come from underneath with the other (left). I start to lift up with the left and he will usually climb up on it, while trying to keep my right hand at bay. Next thing he knows, he's on my hand and being taken out. I've found that once he's on my hand, he isn't interested in attacking it. You can also use a stick to come from underneath.

Of course, the real trick is getting him out without him grabbing a branch or vine with his legs or tail.

I then generally put him on a nearby plant where he's more comfortable.

I LOVE that you are asking if it's okay not to handle your cham!
Of course! He will be so much happier if you leave him alone.
Only things to consider are if you want him to be able to go outside in the summer ... and ... possible future trips to the vet.
Otherwise ... let him be:)
