happy kayla, upset charlie! ??? help?

Hello!! I'm new to owning a chameleon, I just got a 3 month old veiled chameleon 4 days ago. He is constantly trying to escape through the top of the cage and because of that he has black marks all over his face. ( I moved the heat lamp higher away from him now too, so he wouldn't burn himself) he has been a super dark color the last 24 hours, he also has white dried Idk what around his mouth now..??..he only eats around 5 crickets a day, is that normal?? I keep the tank at 80 degrees and humidity at 50-60. What am I doing wrong?? He seems really really unhappy.
