If you don't need light you don't need to waste energies on a bulb type that doesn't focus on a narrow spectrumWhat ever bulb wattage you decide to use only use a regular incandescent light bulb that you use in your home. there is no need to spend all that extra money for special heat bulbs that aren't necessary.
Well if you prefer to spend 8 to 10 dollars for a heat source when a regular incandescent house bulb will do the same for around a dollar to each his own I always say. I was merely letting the OP know they didn't have to do so. As long as you put it to one side your heat gradient will be just fine has been for me for over 20 years.I have to disagree....
