Knowing the temp at the basking spot is what you need so get a temperature gun or a digital termometer. You might need to try different watts but I've read the usually a 60w does it. If it's too hot, you can always raise the lamp up a little. Hopeople that helps

I use a 60w for my veiled I also keep his basking vine 6-8 inches down from the light cuz it sets on the top

Start at 60w and get yourself a temp gun. I had to go up to a 75w to heat my chams cage properly. Due to the cold winter we are having my apartment is usually in the low 60*F and the 60w was only giving my a basking temp of 78*F.

Same with my new Xlarge cage. So for the winter, I'm using a household 100w bulb to get to 85 degrees.
