Nose

It simply means that he is being given too many vitamins/calcium. Its there way of releasing the extra suplements.

I can only open the first picture somehow. :(

However, excreted white crystals in front of the chameleon's nostrils aren't always necessarily related to calcium or vitamin overdose. Most crystals mainly contain potassium and sodium salts, but no calcium. As long as the chameleon has proper vitamin D 3 blood levels, "too much" orally given calcium isn't absorbed by gut and just leaves the chameleon via feces. Excreting salts via nostrils is, by the way, another way for chameleons to save water and can be seen in completely healthy chameleons, too.

About keeping conditions:
  • You feed a lot too much for an adult panther chameleon if you fed him daily 6 to 8 feeders. 10 medium sized crickets (as example, variation is also important, of cause) would be enough, too. Overfeeding sadly leads to liver and kidney failures and decreases life expectancy. Restrictive feeding is the key to healthy and long living chameleons besides good keeping conditions.
  • Aquariums are no adequate housing for chameleons. These animals needs lots of ventilation and more space, too. A full screen cage inside your garden between bushes and trees would be the right place for your animal to live. Please take a look into the Enclosures & Supply forum, there you'll find lots of informations about cages, further keeping conditions etc. If you take a picture and open a new thread over there, you'll surely get a lot of help by forum members to improve your chameleon's keeping conditions.
  • Fecal samples should be examined regularly several times a year by your vet. Do you have any opportunity to get fecals done by a reptile vet or a small animal collegue who could call another vet to get proper information?

Simple terms I would only use calcium no d3 every other day that repashy once a week because it dose have d3 in it and then a multivitamin 2 times a month definatly over doing the suplimentation read the ingredients on them but don't use as directed usually they overdo it as this problem seems to be the case calcium no d3 every other feeding and calcium d3 and multivitamin 2 times a month that repashy you can use but use in moderation because it has d3 in it
