My veiled chameleon fell out of her tree last week. since then she hasnt been herself. I did check her spine and tail and legs but no swelling. she didnt seem to be hurt but she cant really use her back legs and doesnt curl her tail. i came home today and she was laying on the ground, i went to touch her and she tried to bite me which is good. im going to take her to the vet and i wanted to know how much it would cost to get her looked out on average.

any suggestions to help would be appreciated to. everything in her cage is normal and she is supplemented with vitamins and calcium normally. i do not think she has mbd because she shows no signs of it. im worried shes going to get to dehydrated before i can get her to the vet

Sorry to hear about your cham.

Not sure about the cost. It would depend on the vet and what he plans on doing to diagnose the problem(ex. Xrays). Then, depending on what is wrong with her, the vet will describe some sort of treatment.

My vet was $45 for the check up. Then an aditional $9 or so for the fecal........neocal is around $15...........and I have no idea how much animal xrays are........sorry I cant help u out there..........

Man i cant really answer your question and im sorry to hear about your chamm.
It's prolly just real traumatized. Chameleons being arboreal creatures and all. Sorry.

Try getting some water into her via a syringe (no needle on the end).

shes walking around dragging her legs now. thanks for the help im bringing her in soon. and aja i cant get near her with a syringe she always try to bite it.

I know this is an old thread but I want to know what happened to this chameleon because the same sort of thing happened to my cham! He fell in August and ever since his back bends slightly to the left and he has trouble positioning left his back leg. Now I have to keep him in a small box so he can reach his UV and heat lamp (he tries to climb but falls again). The vet said back injuries take a long time to recover. He didn't take an X-ray. I'm just scared he's always going to be like this now.:( The vet doesn't seem to be that knowledgeable one chams (he missed the fact that he had sperm plugs!).
How is your cham now?
