Background info
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Exo Terra 45x45x60
Lighting - Repti-Glo 8.0 (Geting a replacement Exo-terra twin lighting controller so i can use two fluorescent tubes at once)
Temperature - about 80f
Humidity - moderate/humid, Misting daily
Plants - One medium sized live umbrella plant, a jungle vine, wooden branch, 4exo-terra silk plants of various sizes & plants
Location - At one side of the room, in a low traffice area.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Panther chameleon, about 4/5months, he weighs about 55g
Feeding - He is fed on brown & black crickets daily, Weekly he gets some wax worms, occasionally locusts. crickets are fed on calcium plus cricket food, and some greens.
Supplements - Food gets dusted with 2:0 calcium/no phosphorus powder, then every now and then nutrobal.
Watering - He drinks from the leaves when misted, and when he has showers, he will also drink from a small syringe occassionally when offered to him.
Fecal Description - His droppings are brownish, with the white part at then end.
Current Problem -
Few concerns...
Wondering wether my chameleon is ok, when he colours himself dark a lot in green, and dark green stripes when in his enclosure, when i take him out he is colourful, is this normal or is it because he is not happy? He is surrounded by green plants and jungle vine, could this be the reason for his colouring?
Is there any particular colour or type of background i can cover the sides of the glass viv with to stop him seeing his reflection i have covered most of the sides with plants.
Also slightly confused how often i should be dusting with different powders?
(viv-note that it has more plants now, it also has a basking lamp above the tank which is not in this picture)
