The issue is that it seems that he only like to eat crickets that are roaming around his cage.

Any advices or tips to make a useful feeding cup?

Attached there are some pictures of my setup and his feeder cup

Thank you

Some chameleons just refuse it because they are stimulated by the insects moving around and like to hunt their food. I only have two that'll eat out of a bowl or cup.

Some like it when the cup is higher up in the foliage. Make sure it's not a transparent cup, or they will try to eat "through" it. What I did was use one of my wife's elasticy hair ties and puncture two holes close together on the cup. I cut the hair tie and put it through the two holes. You can then tie that cup anywhere you want.

You can try different spots. I try to hide the cup in foliage so it just looks like the insects are sitting there. It's really just a hit or miss though, as most of mine just won't take them.

In that last picture I kinda see a blur of a veild? Chameleon in the distance. It looks really small in comparison to the cup. Always make sure the cham can crawl out of the cup if it falls in. I had this happen once and one of my chams was really stressed out after.

feeding cup

I made a feeding cup out of a Simply Orange oj bottle. I decorated it with vines and put a natural branch perch across the front only to have Rebel crawl inside to sleep. He never ate the crickets that were in there. LOL I have a shaker cup (http://www.pangeareptile.com/store/rep-cal-cricket-shaker.html ) without the lid and I hold it up to where he can see the crickets moving. He comes over and holds onto the edge with one foot, sometime both front feet, and sticks his head as far as he can (his casque is big so he has to tilt his head to the side to get it into the cup) and starts eating. He does use his tongue. Hes a silly veiled to say the least. Some crickets always get out of the cup so I just let him hunt them down. I have only had one scare of him not eating and that was a few week ago. He stopped eating for a few days after his auto mister stopped working. I have had him for almost three years and have never had any health problems. You just have to find what works best for you cham. :D Virginia
