So I'm thinking about a jacksons chameleon and i didnt want to buy a automatic mister and i read a thread that says you could use terrariums on chams and that makes it WAY easier on me cause it will keep humidity BUT since its an exo terra they have hoods could i could use a compact uvb?
(as watching jdogs video) jacksons can have light at the corner of their cages if youve seen his vid.
compact uvb cause if i have a tube uvb it would be to big IMO for an exo terra
so would it be ok to use a compact like this

thread i read

you can use glass terrariums succsefully imo
what size are you looking at
and i have used those cfl bulbs and had no problems

In his video, he shows a linear UVB tube.
The basking light(heat/UVA) is in the dome, and it is angled outwards to keep heat from building up in the cage, and to help obtain a proper temp gradient for a jacksons.
The UVB is in the long white box that he points out has the UVB in it.;)

I have seen many people use the CFL's with terrariums, so that should be fine for a small space.

What size terrarium are you going to go with?
What is the ambient RH where you live? (therabouts?)

i agree with this, i have used the 18x18x30 exo-terra and had a 18 tube on top with and angled dome light.

IMO, you dont want an all-in-one bulb in that size enclosure, as getting the right amount of heat, and UVB will be difficult. ;/
IMO, its best to stick with the two seperate bulbs, you have more "play" to work with.
dang so should i just buy tube or compact

Tube is best IMO. It gives off a wider area for UVB, although in a small enclosure a CFL can work just fine. :)
