How old is he and what type of cham do you have? Not eating for a couple of days may not be terribly bad for some chams. Mine went for about a week not eating. I noticed he kept trying to get closer to the lights so I added a higher vine (just a couple of inches) and he started eating normally again in about a day or so. Maybe your's needs to get more heat too? Has something changed in the chams environment or has the house gotten cooler recently?

He is a veiled and he is male. I took out a big umbrella plant (that took up almost the whole cage) so that there were only vines and sticks, for about a week. And once I put it back in, that's when he stopped eating.

My Yemen is doing the same thing. He's coming to be about a yr old now.
He's become A LOT more active over the last 5 days and his eating has dropped off completely. The apartment I'm in has rapidly dropped rapidly in temp tho due to winter showing Wales who's boss. So have put it down to that. I've added an additional lamp to his viv and temps have been back around the high 20's low 30's. His humidity levels are about right too.
Fingers crossed he starts eating again in the next 48hrs or I will get seriously worried.
I was told to limit how many mealworms they get as their shell to meat ratio isn't too great, and can cause digestive problems. Although they will pick meal worms over crickets any day. Over here we have the fortune of being able to get locusts and he's even ignoring them. Which is unheard of.
Also told that bearded dragons react the same way if the temp drops suddenly. They stop eating. So balancing everything out again should do the trick.. Fingers crossed.

Any time you make a change in a cage the cham can get upset. For them to go off food a couple days if you put the tree back is not a big thing. Is the tree so big it makes you cham feel like he doesn't have room to move about? If so trim a few branches off to give him the room me needs.

Laurie, LOL right about the changes. However, I just recently decided to add a higher vine so Rambo could get a few inches closer to his heat source. He took to it within minutes (sort of like a fish to water?) and now he practically lives there. It also improved his eating (and pooping) a bunch! His demeanor has been great, like he was when first he arrived at our house. :p

Yeah, try trimming the umbrella plant back a little if it's too tall. They mainly use that for lower level shade or for hiding. Is he doing any better now? How about some pics to see him and his cage. Maybe the plant needs cleaned or clean soil? Sometimes they can make pot plants smell with their feces dropping on them. Just trying to guess what you might look for. What are your upper temps? humidity?

tony1120 this is ethan99's thread about their chameleon. You should start your own thread under General Discussion not under the Health Clinic thread! Thanks.
