My veiled is a little over a year old, she is a female and lives in a screen cage with a live plant and eats about 10 large crickets and 15 mealworms every two days. I recently went out of town and my mom fed her and I came home and she seemed larger. I thought maybe the lumps above her back legs were just fat, but I"m not sure now. they are above both legs, as seen in the pictures. does anybody know whats wrong with her??

She needs a place to lay eggs ASAP. Females can produce (infertile) eggs without having been mated. I recommend an opaque container er a minimum of12" deep x 12" x 8" filled with moist playsand in her cage. Dont let her see you watching her when shes digging. Failure to provide a place to lay eggs can lead to eggbinding.

Has she tried to dig in her plant pot?

If she starts sitting low in the cage, shutting her eyes during the day, etc get her to a vet.

thank you guys, I have never owned a chameleon before, only geckos, and I have had her for a year now and never experienced this. I will set up the lay bin asap. she seems to be doing fine for now, and is still climbing and eating regularly
