Well I think that there was a misunderstanding. I do not feed my little guy 30 crickets a day, that was just something that I read was an average amount of what they should eat daily. He usually eats about 15 to 20 a day. Whatever he doesnt eat I take out at night. I was told at this age that they can not over eat and food should be readily available. Is that true??
The crickets that I have I dont think are to small for him. I would agree that the fruit flies are definitly not big enough for him to make a meal off of, but I tried the crickets a size up from the ones I have and he wouldnt even attempt to go after them. Tonight I moved some things around in the cage and cleaned the bottom. I found some holes where the crickets may be crawling into and closed them up. I wonder if the crickets have been escaping before my cham gets to eat them. Tonight I cleaned it all out and put more crickets in. I saw him eat 2 and then went back to basking. It made me feel better to hear that you all think that he is ok and gave me some great tips on things to watch out for as far as his droppings and if he is sitting low on the cage. All the replies make me feel a lot better. It is amazing how attached you get to these little guys in such a little amount of time.
As far as the supplementing goes, what is the best way to go. I dont want to over do it. How do I schedule that. I also worry that by putting the crickets straight into the cage and then spraying it down through out the day, I am washing away the dusting. In which case, how do I know that he is getting the supplement? Thank you so much..... I have tried to read all that I can read about this little guy and maybe I am over reacting but I would rather be safe than sorry!!!! Thank you all again so so much!!!![Stick Out Tongue :p :p](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
