I just got my first chameleon today and i dont know how much it should be eating! i have the correct set-up and everything, its just she's really small and i dont want to over feed her. she cant be more then 6weeks old..

As much as they will eat which is usually around 20-25. Make sure they are small crickets, given you cham is so young. Do you gut load your crickets? She may not eat for a few days since you just got her, she has to adjust to her new enclosure.

she only ate one cricket today and she's sleeping right now, i guess she'll eat more tmrw.

yes im gutloading the crickets, the breeder said she's eating 1/4th inch ones, i hope she eats more tmrw she seemed to love her new home so far though...

If you just got her, it can take her a few days to settle in and feel comfortable enough to eat.
While you should let her eat as many as she can for now, make sure you read up on how much she should eat when she hits 6 months. around that time is when you will need to reduce how much she eats so as to prevent her from laying large clutches of eggs.
ALso, what exactly are you gutloading with, just curious. :)

im gut loading the crickets with lettuce carrots and potatoes, and i have a calcium enriched water source for the little buggers =]

That does not make a good gutload.
You need to use alot more stuff. please read sandrachameleons blog on gutloading.
I use
carrots
apples
oranges
collard greens
mustard greens
butternut squash
raspberries
strawberries
bee pollen
dandilion leaves
and various other stuff.

ill add some fruits in there but most of the green leaves have just about the same nutritional value as the others, so lettuce should suffice.

You can order a gut load, like cricket crack. That's what I use, and it's a lot easier than having to buy a variety of items to feed your crix.

ACtually they dont. mustard and collard greens do not have the same nutritional make up as lettuce does. romaine is ok, but still not great. iceburg so totally pointless, really just good for providing water.
