Help with ID/Fecal Float

Looking for some help with this fecal float I did yesterday. This is from a chameleon that is temporarily under my care. Just want to get an idea of what it could be before I send a sample to a vet.

I was thinking maybe Giardia cysts. I wasn’t able to get measurements but the magnification was 40x. @JacksJill, @DeremensisBlue does it look like a possible cyst of some kind? If anyone else has any guesses, please chime in. Thanks in advance!!

Looks like there is a little worm in there hoping to hatch soon. Its some kind of nematode but I’m not sure which one myself.

Its not a Giardia. Those have two eyes and sometimes mouths and look like little faces running around.

Did you take it to the vet for medications?

No vet visit yet because she is under my care temporarily. Just wanted to get a preliminary fecal to see if there was anything thing obvious that needed to be treated.

Helminth (worm egg), not coccidia nor amoeba. Probably not a big deal given that it looks pretty rare in the stool, but decision to treat is best left to a shared effort/discussion between you and the vet of course which should consider clinical history and trajectory.

Thank you! There were between 10-12 on the whole slide. It got my attention with a previous fecal so I decided to do another one. Just couldn’t figure out what it was…
