hi ya today my baby chameleon has only eatern 1 cricket the others are still running round his tank as i only got him on wednesday i was just wondering what could be wrong

Offer something else like small mealworms. What size are the crickets? Too big can intimidate your cham and choke it. So PinHead/Small Crickets are advised for babies.

he ate them yesterday just not today i was wondering if he could be going off his food due to shedding starting ive just fed him what the breeder told me but today hes just not been hungry

Oh well if he is shedding sure that can throw them off a bit and actually provide them with a snack. I hear they will sometimes eat their shedding. But all sounds good to me. Im sure a cricket will cross his/her path and become chow.

do u no what signs of shedding are as he was scratching yesterday and also he has 2 white dots on his head are these signs aswell

Try not to leave too many extra crix in the cage. If there are still a lot in there 2 hours after feeding , there are too many left over. They might nibble on your cham.

theres 5 crickets in there and 3 locusts how will they harm him and how do i get them out ewww

just thought id right to tell ya hes fine today just might have been still unsettled from moving to his new home but this morning he ate to chubby crickets

tell me how old is he?
how big is the cricket? in cm or inches..
what species of cham you got?

I have a baby veiled (going 3.5 months) and he eat 18 crix a day.
The only sucky part is his feeding quantity is starting to slow down due to cold weather. (now i gave him 10 silkies, he usually just eat 6 or 8)

well.. that sounds about right.
One thing to think about is you say you just bought him this wednesday.
So, he's probably still adjusting to his enclosure.
Best to leave him alone and give him some space.
My cham gets nervous during the first week of his journey with me.
Always climbing the cage. Not exactly wanting to eat a lot..
but, be patient and keep an eye for its poo..
As long as his poop is nice and moist.. you are still fine.

Also, the weather has been quite cold lately, it might affect your cham's appetite.
What is your basking temperature?
I heard UVA promotes desire to eat.

But, i think as soon as your cham get used to his new place, his appetite will increased significantly.
Just so you know baby veiled cham can eat all the way to 20 small crix a day.

locust and crickets can chew your cham when he's sleeping.
Making your cham extra cranky in the morning as he lost sleep.

One of the more serious danger of crickets or locust's biting is the possibility of your chameleon developing an infection.

This is one of the reason why people just decided to cup feed their cham.
At the end of the day, they just took the cup away and take out the remainders.

How do you get them out?
well, use your hand and catch that buggers!:D
Sorry...

That really small for normal size crickets. Like I said PinHead/Small crickets would be best. The size does intimidate them but if their hungrey they are going to try to eat it anyhow. If you dashed out and got a dozen smalls I'm sure your cham will go hog wild on the little ones.
