He's not eating

My panther was bought 8 days ago. He has eaten 4 crickets a day until yesterday. Yesterday I introduced waxworms to him (which he really enjoyed) and then I put a locust in. His reaction was really weird - he was showing aggression to it I think.. I left it in there with him thinking that perhaps it was me who he was being aggressive to. But it was still there this morning and he has eaten NO crickets either. I took the locust out a few hours ago and just kept the crickets in there. He hasn't eaten a single one! I'm getting really worried... it's like he is so traumatised by seeing a locust that he won't eat anything!!

well give him some time. it is very stressful on a chameleon when it is moved great distances. put the crickets and waxworms in his cage and let him eat when he is ready. also give him some space for a few weeks, like not handling him and not to bother him. also were did you get him from? im sure it is just stress.

Sambava Boy....

Young chams are often intimidated by a new insect. The first time I introduce silkworms to my babies they puff up at them. Then one brave baby will eat one and then the rest get the idea. I second the question of "How old is your cham?" I'm also thinking 4 crickets a day for any age is not enough. Can we get a picture of your boy?

I don't offer him 4... I offer much more, but that's the amount he eats.
I will definitely stop handling for a while then. He is 3 months old.

Yes I posted a thread with pictures of him in. :)
