Hi and Thank You

I just wanted to introduce myself and say what an awesome wealth of information this site is. I have been reading here for months learning what I needed to, to successfully raise a panther. Any time I have a question I just do a search here and find my answer. Although, I have come to realize that there's much to learn by just the experience. I got my enclosure totally setup and running on the timers a couple of months ago and then finally found the chameleon I was after, Geoffery, a few weeks ago from forum member, "biffle". Here's a pic I took of him last week. That's him as my avatar too. No doubt many more pics to come....

Hello and welcome to you and Geoffrey :) If that's the standard all your pictures are going to be then keep them coming..............

Thanks all.

pic "you!! shut the f*** up"

:) Nope....it was me. He's still not too comfortable with me handling him and may never be. I've only taken him out of his cage twice, both for photo shoots. Last time I put him on that same piece of wood and he really got excited and changed into colors I've never seen before. His eyes also got nice pronounced stripes and they actually stayed that way for a couple days. My avatar pic is showing the striped eyes. He was excited a little while on me, but not bad. I guess for some reason he doesn't like that wood. I had a hard time getting him to release my hand to climb onto it.

Jason sold his Geoffrey?? Fenix is a younger brother to Geoffrey. I didn't know he was letting him go! We have good looking boys! ;) He's about a year old now, right?

Ha. Just checked out some of your pics of Fenix. They certainly do like brothers. Boy, you messed up. I'll be pming you all the time now asking details of how Fenix acts compared to Geoffery, along with why's and how come's. Yes, he's 14-15 months I believe.

Ha! I have/had a funny pic of me and Geoffrey from when I picked up Fenix! He did not like me at all! Maybe he was ticked at me for running off with his lil bro? :)

I can tell you now that Fenix loves to interact with me. Not at all timid, shy or grumpy. Feel free to reach out to me. I'll help if I can. I communicate with Jason by sending him updates of his boy. ;)

HAHA...love it! You guys are related through your cham's relation's. You guys gonna exchange Christmas cards? :D

Found the pics! Here is Jason holding Geoffrey. He was extremely upset with me and was trying to hide from me! Punk! :)

I guess maybe Geoffery isn't as personable. Although, I did feel like he was liking me plenty until that last incident of putting him on the wood. Now it's even hard to get him to come get a superworm from me. I did manage one worm hand feeding tonight, but it took some time.
I thought the exact same thing after seeing your pics, that he loves to interact with you. That's awesome. Thanks. I will reach out. I send Jason updates too. :)

So he goes up your arm too.... I've never handled a chameleon before, but have seen plenty pictures of them being handled and they are always facing outwards. Every time I pick him up he crawls up my arm and the direction he is going on you. I turn him around and he always turns back around and goes up my arm to my shoulder until I put another hand out to get him. It does look like he is trying to go underneath on you.

He's actually on Jason in those pics. Most chams will naturally head up your arms, toward your head. They're trying to get to the highest point. I turn them around and pass them between my hands until they realize I'm not letting them go up top. :)

Ok. Good. Got my first ignorant comment out of the way. Now we can get on with it.:) Thanks though, because I really was wondering, but just haven't seen pics of that.
