If you read some topics in the habitat and viv section this will give you an idea on the correct setup for your cham, an all glass setup will not give adequate ventilation and can harbor bacteria, what locale of cham are you looking to get?

i was planning on a glass one with maybe a mesh top??

mainly just due to the look of them.

as for what type... no idea haha, thats why im here,
what are the differences?

Aqauriums with Mesh tops are the absolute worst thing you can put a cham in (besides pygmy chams). Read up-these are not easy animals to keep.

I meant aqauriums period.

hense why i said a mesh top.

im also in the UK so tempratures are no where as hot as the US

im aware they are not the easyest to keep, but im experienced at keeping notoriously difficult fish, and have my turtles

I live in the UK too, but I have a wooden viv with 2 glass sliding doors and ventilation at the back, top and front at bottom, I am also in process of sourcing marine ply for the next viv.
I did roughly 8 months research before actually getting mine, and had the viv setup for at least 2 weeks before my little fellow went in it, just as a peace of mind so that everything worked and temps/humidity held steady.
Well done on being an avid fish and turtle enthusiast it shows you are committed to giving the best possible care for survival, but, chameleons are very time consuming, addictive and can get ill very quickly or even die if not looked after properly, so please ask as many questions and read as many topics before actually getting one, you never know you may change your mind but I very much doubt it they are a truely remarkable reptile, I originally was going to purchase a veiled but ended up getting a nosy be simply because for me that was best for me and what I really wanted after reading everyones views and comments to others in the same situation as me.

Good luck and happy cham hunting.

ok ive had a look about and im thinking a woodern viv is best,

i have a friend that also has a chameleon and hes willing to help me as much as i need.

will take me a fair few months to sell my marine tank i expect so dont worry im not going to go out tomorow and buy one.
