Hey I'm Jess and me and my chameleon are new to the forum though I have to admit I have been snooping around for quite awhile :)
I work in a reptile shop and we had a chameleon come in who was no longer wanted by her owner. I always swore that I would never have another chameleon after taking in a baby who was very poorly and spending weeks trying to save it and it didnt survive. However Bella (name of mychameleon) was lovely and seeing that she was becoming stressed in the shop with all the noice, other animals etc I thought I would take her home untill a owner could be found. Yeah bad move, as soon as I got her home she perked right up came out from behind the vines where she had taken up residence and sat on the branch and had a good look around. Her coulours were amazing, at the shop she stayed a dark brown, at home she's green with bits of blue, a real beaut. She wasn't eating at the shop to well. But she ate the first day I got her home hand feeding and everything, even came out of the cage and sat on my head for ages. We had a vet check up yesterday and was pronounced a lovely chameleon.
She came in a terranium (not big enough in my book) and I know that they can get stressed in there but she's not, in fact she seems to enjoy being able to see out at all sides. She hasn't got a basking light only a cermaic heater bulb. She came with no live plants just a log and fake ivy. Now has live plants and a lot more cover. I want to change her into somthing bigger but only having had her for under a week dont want to stress her out with moving her again, any thoughts on this? And should I ditch the ceramic heater and get a basking light? or should I keep both. Also whats the perect humidity? Mine is a fifty?
Thanks so much :)

Hello and welcome :) What age/ species is little Bella? I'm guessing shes a Veiled from the colours you mentioned. If so humidity of 50 is ok, just a little more would be best.
Here's a great all-round caresheet for Veileds - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/chameleonsinmyhouse/395-veiled-chameleon-care-sheet.html
A standard incandescent bulb would definitely be best for basking. Good work for helping her!
Depends on how big your terrarium is and what it's made of when you change it.............................

She is two (I was told) and a veiled. Is it normal to panic so much? I have other reptiles and I swear I am checking on this chameleon every two secs. I think I am becoming obsessed.

Lol, that's totally normal. There is something special about Chameleons.......we have regular threads here about the problems of cham addiction :D

Cage is two foot high, one and a half foot wide. Its glass sides with a mesh lid. Would keep her in same sort of thing.

Habitats

Welcome back to Cham onwnership!!
I keep mine in the exo-terra habitats... screen tops, front opening glass doors, ventilation strip in front under the doors. They work great! easy to keep humidity up, the screened top & vents create a chimney effect (nice air flow) & both my veiled & my montane do well...plus it provides protection from curious cats & dogs, while providing a great view for the Chams.
makes misting & dripping cleaner, doesn't go thru sides. & i just clean the water out of the bottom with a sponge.

they are a bit expensive, but check your local craigslist & pet shops for sales.

go with tall ones so they can climb up.
