Hey,

So about a month ago I got a my first cham, a Sambava male, he was probably around 3 months. Here are some first week pics.

LLLReptile said they tried to pick out a male, but I want your opinion!
Unfortunately I don't have a "bulge" picture, but I'm pretty sure its there...

I am no expert at this so i could be completely wrong but it looks a she to me? in the second picture i see no bulge. but let the pro's correct me ;)

The light coloring is only because he is sleeping, during the day he is always very dark.

But what about this one:

isnt LLL a sponsor? they dont know how to sex a panther chameleon that theyre selling???!!! huh? ive never heard of such nonsense... why would u buy off of them if they dont even know what theyre selling u?????????

LLL is a sponsor, and they get there animals in bulk, it does not mean they are qualified sexers. atm, your photo looks to be on the fem side. i am not sure however as the quality of the photos blur out.

there is one photo that makes me think very young male that hasn't developed yet.

in the sleeping picture, you can see a slight bulge,i had a male once that did not fill out for ages and showed oranges also had me worried for a while.

Pictures a bit better in quality would help:)

One day I came home from work and half his body was blue. Does that mean anything? It only happened that one time, now I'm starting to second guess myself, maybe I was hallucinating

I apologize for the crap iphone photos, its all I got right now. These photos might help identify sex:

Do babies not have the thumbs (tarsal spur i believe) on their back feet if they're male? or is that only veileds.

edit: i mean like
i know they're male if they have the thumbs in veileds, but is this only in veileds?

haha i suppose i made it sound like 'males don't have the thumbs'
SOWWY I CAN'T TYPE CORRECTLY! :X

Right, that works for veiled males (most of the time) but not for panthers.

It looks female to me, BUT, I am useless at sexing, and Sambava's do take a long time to colour up.

Damn, I see female too...

It's superficial to say this, but I was really hoping for a male (vibrant colors). Especially considering that chameleons are more eye candy than 'handling' pets.

Hm, where does one sell their chameleon?

I believe thats a sheila i would demand a refund and something for your troubles maybe send you a male and just let you keep her

And this still looks female?

I can never tell if its the base of the tail or right before the base..

In that last picture, I'm leaning towards a male, but many of the others look female to me.

You said he's only light while sleeping, and always dark during the day? Are the colors in the last picture what you were talking about? If it is then you should maybe look into your setup, something may be stressing him (or her.)
