I live in perryopolis pa. I'm trying to find vets but I could use some help. Like ihe is just letting it hang there and idk how to help I keep moistening it with water.

theres a therd on here dont panic!!!

Put him in a travil tank with CLEAN wet material on the bottom NOT FLUFFY, put a branch on the floor so he can stand on it, lie his toung on the cloth and keep it moist but not to wet and it should retract in 24hours, if not get to a vet. Id go anyway if you can just to bee on the safe side.... I'll look for the link! Good luck xx

just keep it damp

Maybe a tea towl to hold the water with a jay-cloth on top to stop any fluff ?? I can't find the link but I know ive read it somewere it should go in on its own over night, oh dont let him get to cold either xx poor little thing

I called around abd no very can see him today so I have him in a 10 gallon tank with a damp hand towel on the bottom and a stick in there. his tongue is still hanging in there. He tries to get it in so I see its attached still which is good. I'm hoping he will regain the strength to pull it back in his mouth. I thought about trying to ease it in but I thought he might swallow it so as of now it's just hanging. He otherwise seems to be doing OK.he wasn't aggressive when I moved him he just seems like he doesn't understand why he can't move his tongue.

Here is a picture of it. He can get it in a little more than that.

Google shows you to be near Pittsburg. Here is a listing of a vet that shows a chameleon in the ad. Give them a call.

don't scare him, i read this is something more normal than you think.
he should be able to retract his tongue on his own in less than 24 hours.
no damage for the future, just a little stress.

There have been several instances with forum members where the tongue had to be amputated to save the cham's life. Please do rush him to a vet. Poor little guy. Even without a long tongue, he can live a healthy life with a little extra love.

Put the stick almost on the floor so the tongue isn't hanging it just lieing on the floor, gravity wont make this any easier. Well done though good job your doing all you can to help atm Xx
