Honworm Cannibalism

I was just cleaning out my hornworm pod and I noticed that one of the bigger worms ate the smallest worm. Has anyone experienced this?

I know this sounds stupid, but are you sure they did it? Or did he escape?
I have had a lot of them and never had that problem. That is really strange.

They will eat each other if there isnt an abundance of food for them. You can read the info on mulberryfarms.com or the chameleonnews.com i forget which one.

This worm is the greatest thing to chameleons haha at least food for mine. They can get huge. They are green or blue very juicy and great for helping rehydrate chams. They are high in fat though so should only be fed as a treat. All my chams go insane for these. Mulberryfarms.com has them but if you do get them get small because they grow rapidly.

not if you get the very small ones. You have to tell them this in the comment box when you order. They arent the cheapest thing and they grow very quick so I would hold off to not waste them. But they also have silkworms that dont grow as fast and you can use them as a staple also.

hornworms are my saviors! :)
they are the insects that save my chameleon from emaciating himself after Albon therapy. They are forever hold a special place in my heart. :D

I'm still waiting to get a container with blue hornworms in them. I keep getting green ones. I want the blue ones cause they look really cool. I might keep one as a pet.

you can mention mulberryfarms (if you purchase your worms there) to provide you with the teal color hornworms. Or, you can just purchase the brown chow and feed your green hornworms with that chow. Soon, your worms going to turn teal in color.

I have couple of teal hornworms that i fed with the green chow that turned into green after couple of days.

my cham ate a hornworm yesterday and he squirted me in the eye with the juices.
its crazy. i was like 8 feet away. no joke.
