I just got a shipment of various worms for my chams from mulberry farms and one of the feeders were horn worms. My chams have been on a feeod strike the past week and the go absolutely bonkers for these but i cant find a nutritional chart on the website. does any one know what nutritional vlues they hold?

A: They are extremely healthy. They are high in calcium, low in fat, have no chitin or exoskeleton so your animal will not have trouble digesting them. All this provides more usable nutrition for your animals.

Calcium - 46.4mg/100g
Fat - 3.07%

From Greatlake Hornworm Website

yeah they are great feeders. I had a lil scare today when Samson when to take one with his tongue and the fricken hornworm won the tug of war. Samson had to walk over to the worm with his tongue stuck to it and it scared the crap out of me. He was fine though as 10 mins later I hand fed him a cricket that he picked up from range with his usual accuracy.

There are other odd stories about hornworms giving chams some grief so keep a close eye when those worms are in the enclosure as I believe them to be a lot more devious then their soft and cute bodies give away.

Crush the jaws of the big ones when I can. The darn things can clamp down on a soft part of the mouth and hold on.

How is this done? Something fast like a pair of needle nose pliers? Or something more delicate such as tweezers? Hell after I saw that one hold on I am tempted to cut off their feets too. :D Just kidding
