Hornworm Eggs....

I had 60 Hornworm Pupae and so far 12 have turned to moths. This is my first attempt at eggs so I did not know what to expect. (I actually figured most would die and not complete their cycle)
I have already gotten 400-500 eggs and it seems there is no end in sight. As they continue to become moths and lay eggs.... it seems I will have an even greater over abundance of eggs. .... So.....

I would like to share my abundance with some of you. I am not selling them, I would rather give them away to someone who maybe could not normally afford to spoil their chameleons. I often times read on the forum of some of our young folks who cant afford them, or people unwilling to put out the money because they dont know if their chameleon will even eat them.

All I would ask in return is that you let me know that you received them safely and how they hatched. Then if you could just reimburse me for the postage. If you really liked them then throw in a couple extra bucks for the worm (if you want) ... This is on the honor system. I will put out the money for postage hoping to get it returned to me.

Private message me here on the forum with your mailing address. I will collect the eggs fresh in the morning and send them out right away so that they wont hatch (hopefully) until they get to you. I will put a small amount of food in the small deli cup just in case a couple hatch en-route. ... note: you should buy a small amount of hornworm food (or make your own) so that you can raise them to the size you need.

Remember this is for those who really could use them, not sell them. And this is my gift to the community. It will be on the honor system, so I will note who returns my postage to me for the future. I raise my own: Hornworms, Superworms, Mealworms, Crickets, Waxworms, Fruitflies etc. for my own chameleons and frogs so I will frequently have extras.

Let me know is you would like some eggs !

I have a question about hatching the eggs. I have 100 eggs from Great lakes Hornworms coming tomorrow and im having trouble finding information on hatching them. What do I need to do to hatch them? What kind of temps and lighting? Do I need to put the eggs somewhere or can I just lay them on the bottom of the tank?
Thank you

5 days ago I posted FREE HORNWORM EGGS...... And I am surprised that no one took me up on my offer ??? !!! So I collected hundreds of eggs, and they have started hatching now. I have more than enough for me. So tonight I decided it is better to kill all of the moths so that I will not have any more eggs. It breaks my heart to do that because I know how much people pay for baby worms. I really cant believe that NO ONE wanted any eggs. Oh well, as they say it is the thought that counts. I tried.

I would have taken some, but I can afford them so I thought best to let others have them.

And props for this, really cool of you to do :).
