Hornworm feeding question

Hi all, I'm new to owning a veiled chameleon. I believe he is 6 months old. I want to do everything right, so I'm very thankful for this forum. I was told that 1 hornworm has the protein of 10 crickets. I don't want to overdo protein (if that's possible) so was wondering your thoughts on how many to feed. I only picked up 2 that are about an inch and a half long. But I did see a you tube video of a cham eating a huge one. I thought it would be too big for her to eat since crickets aren't supposed to be larger than the width of the chams mouths but she had no problem. How many and how often could they have hornworms? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. Several a week of the appropriate size should be find. The feeders should be no wider that the space between their eyes but they can be longer. Do you have a female? If so by the age of 6 months she needs a laying bin in her enclosure. Females lay eggs without a male even being around and if not provided with the proper place to lay will become egg bound and die. Here's my blog for how I recommend keeping veileds. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blo...-keepers-young-veiled-panther-chameleons.html
