No, that would actually kill them... Room temp is fine

I've put them in the refrigerator before and they were fine. Just make sure they are not the really small hatchlings though. You only want to do this if you want to slow their growth. They grow very fast @ room temps. and your cham may not be able to handle the full grown adult hornworms. The way I do it is 2 days in the fridge and then 1 day @ room temps-- repeat as necessary.

keeping them in the refrigerator for a day won't kill them. i actually put them in the refrigerator a lot to slow down their growth since they grow super fast.
