hornworms and silkworms?

hey i just received my silkworms and a hornworm pod from coastal, and have a couple of questions.
first is the hornworm pod supposed to be set on its lid(upside down)i think it is supposed to but i thought the food that they send in there might fall and squish them.
second, are the silkworms pretty self sufficient? do i need to just put food in there once daily and clean daily or how often? what temp do you keep them at? sorry about the questions, but i am a first time worm keeper.thanks in advance for any and all replies. also do i need to refridgerate the wet food that i got with them?

If you think hornworms may get squished, set the container on its side, maybe?

As for silkworms, I keep them in an open air setting in a shallow (6 inches high) and wide plastic container. Place silkworms on a raised plastic canvas so their poop can fall through. You have to feed them everyday if you want them to grow faster, but once they reach 1 inch, they can be fed every other day to keep them cham-edible size if necessary. Keep them between 75-83 F.
