Hornworms, Okay as feeders?

I picked up some hornworms last night to try with my veiled, only problem is, she seems terrified of them. I put one in a cup and she just hissed at it. Tried putting one on a branch in her enclosure, she would try to avoid it. When it crawled towards her she knocked it off the branch, no attempt to eat it.

Any tips on how to get her to eat one? I paid $1 each for these (smallest ones in the store) and don't want them to go to waste.

The worms were each an inch long and the chameleon weighed in at 16g last time I checked.

yes. hornworms are good feeder as long as you did not pick them from the wild (as the wild one usually feed on tomato leaves that are toxic).
she probably need time to recognize it as food item.
But, i am sure once she taste it; she will be quite happy.
All my chams goes nut when they see hornworms.

it is great for extra boost of hydration as well since they contains lots of juice.

She is only 16g? You may want to try feeding her something a bit smaller and simpler. Small crickets, small worms, etc. When she's bigger, I'm sure she'll love the horn worms.

She's eating 8 1/2" crickets a day and I picked up the smallest worms the store had. I'll try again tomorrow, if she doesn't eat one, they're going to the geckos.

If you have small HW most chams will handle them... but they do grow fast so keep them cool to slow them down.
