how about fans?

so in trying to keep my chams enclosure and around him as close to his natural state(which i have to say is flordia,he nor his father,or grandfather have ever been to madascar,so i am not sure he woulld even have a clue how to survive there). at any rate i was wondering would it hurt,or be a good idea to have a fan blow on the enclosure every now and again to simulate wind in the upper trees?

also i read some where tha chams can hear. but then read that no they don't acutally hear but more or less feel the vibrance of the sound.
if it is true that they do acutally hear(a ear on top of the head?) would it be advisable to have one of those tapes that has rainforest sounds play for him too? it has like birds squaking and things of that nature. if he can't hear i am guessing not much of a point. but am wondering if that might freak him out b/c well he might think he is going to be eaten.

what are your thoughts on these things?

Ive heard no on the fan idea. Of course if they have a spot to get out of the wind if they want to, that would be ok.

i have a fan in my cham room i put it on a timer so it go's on and off every halfhour. they seem to like it i have had no probs i realy cant see where it would hurt them unless you have it blowing right on them. i have mine in the back of the room away from the cages. so it just moves the air around.

Air circulation is good, but I'm not sure about fans blowing directly on chams. Mine are in their own house that has a window AC put high up on one end. It comes on and blows the air around, but doesn't blow directly in any cages.

I think there was a thread on this already. Search "wind" or "fan".

I use a small fan all day long, however my habitat is rather large at 8' x 7' x 30" and so it is not like there is a hurricane blowing thru.....
