Hello the chameleon forums, its been just over a week since i got my very first veild chameleon and thanks to the forums it has made the hole process atlot easier.

Anyway ive been in process of trying to gain my chameleons trust and to try and get him atleast climb onto me so in future i can move him onto a plant while cleaning ect. Anyways he happily eats out of my hand, he climbs into bucket that i feed him with. He also leaves his cage and climbs onto plant next to his viv, when ever i try to put my hand towards him he ignores it or puffs out. Is this normal? And is the trusy process going well?

Secondly randell (my cham) is 4 months old and i have mixed opinions on how much to feed him so i would like some accurate answers. I currently feed him 20 insects aday 10 before i go to work and 10 when i get home sometimes he doesn't eat all. I hand feed him and cup feed.

Thirdly in pictures below do you think randell is looking healthy?

Thanks alot everyone

Its normal for him to puff up when u trying to approach him with your hand, since he is not sure if u trying to hurt him with that hand ,only time will build up his trust with u.
Try feed him earlier so he can bask under the heat lamp n help to digest his food in his tummy,I usually avoid feeding mine near the bed time.
He looks fine to me from the pics u showing, nice veiled male.

He is looking real healthy to me. When you put your hand towards him make sure you are always coming from under him. They will always perceive something large coming over the top of them as a threat. Good luck, and give it time they usually learn to tolerate us eventually.
