How can I raise humidity!!!

Hi. I am getting my cham tomorrow and have a problem. The humidity is very low in my cage. I live in colorado where it is very dry, but still. I have an automatic misting system that does a great job of misting for 2 minutes every hour. I also have a live umbrella plant, a little dripper, and I have covered 3 sides of the cage with a shower curtain. The humidity is still only at 55 percent for less than a half an hour and then drops to 27 percent.

Please Help!!!

You could always try piping in cool mist from a cool mist humidifier. That's what I do and it works for me I live in the northern part of the states where the heat has to run all night. If you have the drainage for it you could also increase your misting schedule.

How are you measuring your humidity, a gauge or digital? What heat source are you using, and what are your temperatures?

A humidifier placed near or on top of the cage (if light enough) with the mist aimed into the cage- or piped in via a DIY hose- will help with humidity, especially if paired with the shower curtain. Secure the shower curtain as best you can so that the mist doesn't escape! A room humidifier can also help to bring the ambient humidity up. If you aren't into DIY, you could buy one of those repifogger things, but I've never had much luck with them and my DIY fogger (a humidifier with a hose attached with silicone) is more reliable.

If there is space in the cage, you could also look as adding some pothos plants- as many as you can fit- they will grow pretty much anywhere and their leaves are great for retaining water droplets.

I live in Northern Canada, where the heat is on 24/7 in the winter! Humidity Blues R Us, over here :p
