Howdy all,
I am new to this forum and fairly new to chameleons. We recently purchased three pygmy chams (WC), two females and one male. We paid extra for one of the females that was supposed to be gravid, but I just do not see any difference between her and the "nongravid" female. They are both rounder than the male, but not one female more round then the other. I thought MAYBE Maia (the supposedly gravid one) had a bumpier tummy then the other at first, but I don't see it now so I think it was wishful thinking on my part. We have searched the cage and don't see any sign of eggs in case she laid them recently. (We have had them about a week). How deep do they lay? Maybe we missed them? She was a little duller in color than the other one initially - is that an indication? Then she fired up one day this last weekend.
Any thoughts would be helpful. My 9 year old son is just beside himself with excitement about these eggs, so I really want to be on top of it all!
