For a roach diet--fish meal, bee pollen and dehulled soybean meal, banana and rice flakes, granulated pineapple, granulated papaya, whole egg solids, dehydrated cherry pieces, broccoli, parsely, beets, carrots, peas, spinach, and pimento, granulated dates, raspberry powder, ground bee pollen, and spirulina.

Oh yeah is a spring leaf mix, carrots, pears, apple, oranges good for fresh gutload before feeding off?

Also any greens or fruits (fresh) I should avoid with a gutload?

Thanks in advance,
Shahe

get rid of: Fish flakes (causes gout in your cham. no animal protein whatsoever.)

broccoli, spinach (causes calcium binding, because of high oxilate (srry i cnat sepll) levels.

idk much about pimentos, so i wouldn't use them. but if theyre okay, we have a big jar of em! :D:D:D

Not fish flakes its fish meal, or something like chicken mash its fish that is squeezed of the fish oil and then made into a brown mix like chicken mash I think. That is just for the roaches to live off of as a breeding colony. That recipe is suppose to be high in protein so roach make strong baby haha. :)

I just wanted to see what opinions were but I didnt get any, and have already purchased the stuff. Wouldnt mind getting feed and crystals for roaches from forum members, I just cant remember who has all of the stuff.

The roaches going to be fed off will have fresh veggies and fruits the night before or a couple days prior. Why I asked if I should aoid any fresh fruits or vegatables-this question was more for what greens are ok?

The greens would be a spring mix I get (baby green romaine, baby green leaf lettuce, tango, tatsoi, baby spinach, baby red romaine, llola rosa, baby red chard, arugala, mizuna, baby green chard, and baby oakleaf lettuce) I eat it and have lots of it on hand so I figured I could share with the roaches since no one in my house knows what food that green is suppose to be for except me. Those greens would also have pear, apple, orange, tangerine, asian pear, melon, and whatever fruit I seem to have around the house that week. Can you tell I like my fruits and vegatables lol. I swear im the only one who eats any of them and sometimes I get more than I can finish off.

animal protien=gout..... get rid of the fish meal.....
spinach=calcium binding..... get rid of it....

(not trying to be rude, but i shouldn't need to repeat myself)

Yeah I'm going to bite it on that stuff and just probably end up trashing it, im going to get cricket crack instead.

Most of the greens I listed I dont know about either lol. Im only going to use Romaine lettuce, carrot, kale, apple, pear, melon, and sometimes lemon, lime, orange skins for fresh stuff.

Thanks for the advice,
Shahe

Its okay to use the fish meal when growing the colony. Just make sure to change the diet for a few days or a week before feeding off to the chameleon.
I wouldnt use Brocoli
yes to bee pollen
maybe to dehulled soybean meal
rots fast, but no harm in using some banana
rice flakes are find
dunno about granulated pineapple or granulated papaya
dehydrated cherry pieces, granulated dates, raspberry powder - hydrated would be better? fresh is better?
I used hard boiled egg sometimes, but like the fish meal.....
broccoli - NO
parsely - yes
beets - sure
carrots - YES
peas and beans are fine
easy on the spinach
Dunno about pimento
YES to spirulina.
Yes to spring leaf mix
Yes to apple, oranges

consider also yam/sweet potatoe
