Ok been awhile since I have been on busy with work. So my Panther is still doing great growing healthy and big. Just took her in cause she seemed to be a little low energy and acting normal. I had her out yesterday on her tree outside and noticed she went to the bottom and started digging. I thought she was to young to have eggs already, so I took her in and it was confirmed.... She has some eggs in here. So I have her in the laying container and she is still digging. My question is, is it normal for a 6 month ambilobe panther to have eggs already thank you.

I will upload a pic later, for some reason it wont let me right now.

I am not sure the word normal applies. Females have been known to lay eggs as early as 4 months. That is hard on their little bodies. She will need some good care to get her back to healthy after the eggs.. She will need well gutloaded feeders, such as silkworms, hornworms, dubia, Butterworms, and crickets. Dust her feeders with plain calcium each day for the first week. Make sure she gets lots of water. If you can get her some natural sunshine, without overheating her, that is great for her.

I will send you a link to a care sheet in a couple minutes.

Ok just making sure it is normal for them to lay them at this age. Ya I just resupplied on here food and already getting them gut loaded. I will be sure to give her natural sunshine when she is ready and thank you those links will be greatly appreciated.

I just added the links. I fly to orange county tomorrow and will be at the Pomona show on Aug 9 & 10. I would love to meet you.

Hopefully, you misdiagnosed her age. It would not be good health wise for her to produce eggs this early. Please make sure to get her supplements correct and feeder gutloads on point. I see you are military, so a journal of sorts should be no stranger to you. With a female chameleon, it can be your best friend for her health. Make sure to not overfeed her or keep her temps too high, as this can lead to egg production also. Good luck to both you. Meet with laurie if you can, she will help you.

Yes that would be nice to meet you as well to discuss more about chameleons. Are you going to be at a booth or just attending the show?

So far she has laid 34 eggs and is now recovering, drinking plenty and eating a little bit but is starting to move around more. Currently getting some nice sun and fresh air.

@Junglefries- Her age is confirmed and I have had her on a strict schedule ever since she was a baby. She gets all the necessary water, heat, UVB, and a proper diet. She is more spoiled than my other pets, thank you for your concern for her.
