how long will escapee crickets live in house?

So I got a particularly rowdy bunch of crickets last time I ordered and quite a few have escaped--I should say I keep my cham and crix upstairs in the bedroom. How long do these little buggers have on the "outside" ?

Alright well I have some unfortunate experience with this sadly, it depends on if you have animals or not. if you have cats they may run into them and not be a problem. I once found a cricket all the way in the basement 3 floors away from my room.... I have no idea what they eat when they escape but they seem to do fine.. Matter of fact one got out last night in front of me and i was pissed lol.

You are screwed, they will self multiply and you will soon be over run. LOL. I said it once, and I'll say it again. Can someone please please please get a geneticist to produce legless crickets? (the large male jumping legs - I have no idea what that anatomy is called) - and while you're at it make them wingless as well so we can stop the jumping and the chirping once and for all!

Pretty sure I saw they have the wingless crickets in Europe. Wonder why we can't get them here. :(

Well, my son let my crickets out about 2 weeks ago .. and a few managed to get into my central air and went into the basement where the heat source is ... and they were singing their song for about 1 1/2 weeks but I no longer hear them. I assume they've died off. I found it quite amusing hearing the crickets in my laundry room for over a week. :) But, to answer your question, they will die. Believe me.

how many crix got out?

I always have a crick here, a crick there, escaping. They'll last for a while, but I've certainly never seen any signs of reproduction. Mine usually head for the humidifier in the basement.
Maybe a couple weeks on the loose? - Depends on if they can find water (crucial) and something to eat.
I can't say I've ever felt particularly overrun with crickets, but I think I have a higher cricket tolerance than some.

I find that my escapees usually live at least twice as long as the crickets I have in the Bin.
I am thinking of free ranging the rest of them so that my supply will last longer. :D

They really should not reproduce so I would not worry about that.

Now-At my house-the really big spiders simply catch them. I really have spiders all over the house-they live under the kitchen cabinets near the baseboards, they live under the couch, the spiders reproduce and there are baby spiders all over! I vacuum constantly!

I dropped 2 dozen "small" size crickets about 2 maybe even 3 months ago, I have just recently started seeing them again. 4 of them have been spotted and captured in my bathroom.

My experience is they need soil to reproduce. We used to get cricket reproduction in the frog's terrarium, but I've never had it in my cricket keeper. As long as you don't have soil all over your floor, you probably are safe from reproduction. (if you have a lot of plants, I think I'd check those)

We can usually recapture escapee crickets and put them back in the system. Failing that, our pug mix thinks they are really entertaining....for a while.

Many people are sensitive to cricket poop. If you have them wandering your room you should make sure to vacuum occasionally to take care of that.

Sensitive as in "ew that's gross" or are you talking about something else...?
