How Long Without UVB?

For some reason my repitsun stopped working today, only been about 4 months since I purchased it which seems really strange.

I don't have the money to get a new bulb today, how many days can he go without UVB at 5-6 months old?

I am trying to find some money to get a reptiglo from the petstore, but I know they aren't as god as the reptisuns online. I am going to order a reptisun today but will a reptiglo work for a week or two if necessary?

You can take him outside to get natural UVB from the sun for an hour or two 3/4 times a week until your reptisun comes in and he will be fine. It is summer now so depending where you live the temperatures should be warm enough.

Too hot to take him outside right now here in AZ unfortunately, right now it's about 100 degrees outside.

you could still take him out for short periods along as you have a cool shaded area and keep him misted, but for one of your questions any bulb will be better then no bulb :)

You can use the reptiglo in place of the reptisun. It will be ok. Take out in sun as others have said. Just mist down to cool off. I live in Florida and it is super hot and humid here. I have my chameleon outside all the time. I just monitor him constantly.

I can't imagine it's safe for him to be in 10+ degree temps from his usual basking?

I am heading to petsmart to see if they have a 24" reptiglo now.

It is up to you. If you do not feel comfortable with it, then don't do it. Alls you could do is try and if you see him gaping continually and he cannot cool down from you misting him then I would bring him in. It is in the high 90's down here in the shade and I have my chameleon in the sun where it is hotter. Again, I monitor him constantly.

I also live in Florida and keep my chameleon outside all day in his outdoor enclosure and he does just fine. I make sure he has shade in certain sections of his cage so that he has room to move around and not overheat.

like carol and symbiot said. an hour a day like everyother day won't hurt him just keep an eye if his mouth opens and is gaping i take my guys out as much as possible but keep them in the shade the whole time and they are fine.

what are the morning sunrise temps like? Here in texas its 105 around 2pm. I take my boy out around 8am when its about 78 and i'll just sit out on the small back porch while he soaks up his rays in the hibiscus, every little bit counts! Get up early and take him out when the temperatures aren't oven-like
