how many pinhead crickets/fruit flys a day

Hi how many pinhead/fruitflys do i give my 10 hatchlings a day between them all? also is it best to free roam them or put them in a plastic cup (but im worried my chams will fall in) ? when i put the pinheads in a couple of hours later they are dead ???? what am i doing wrong or do they die quick ? thanks

It normally takes the babies about 2 days to start eating after they hatch. I feed them 3 times a day and give them all that they will eat in about 5 minutes with just a couple left over for snacks. Do you have pictures of your babies and their set up?

Usually this means they are either drying out or drowning. Feed between mistings when things are dry- even a droplet will drown a pinhead. If they are drying out on the other hand, make sure they have something to snack on until they care consumed- a bit of fruit for example.

Jann's advice on feeding frequency and how much is excellent. I feed a little more than that and a little less often, but the fruit and a pinch of cricket food in one corner keeps the runarounds happy and gutloaded. I always have a few running around in there with the babies, but not too many- too many will cause them to stress and loose appetite.
