Hi how many pinhead/fruitflys do i give my 10 hatchlings a day between them all? also is it best to free roam them or put them in a plastic cup (but im worried my chams will fall in) ? when i put the pinheads in a couple of hours later they are dead ???? what am i doing wrong or do they die quick ? thanks

It normally takes the babies about 2 days to start eating after they hatch. I feed them 3 times a day and give them all that they will eat in about 5 minutes with just a couple left over for snacks. :) Do you have pictures of your babies and their set up?

Usually this means they are either drying out or drowning. Feed between mistings when things are dry- even a droplet will drown a pinhead. If they are drying out on the other hand, make sure they have something to snack on until they care consumed- a bit of fruit for example.

Jann's advice on feeding frequency and how much is excellent. I feed a little more than that and a little less often, but the fruit and a pinch of cricket food in one corner keeps the runarounds happy and gutloaded. I always have a few running around in there with the babies, but not too many- too many will cause them to stress and loose appetite.
