How many problems can you list with this petco chameleon enclosure?

This makes me want to cry! There is no air circulation, they obviously need WAY more ventilation. I can't tell from the picture but all the plants look fake, there is substrate, he is housed with other chameleons (correct?). The enclosure is not tall, it's wide. No basking light, is there a WATER bowl near the bottom right?

Ugh. :eek::(

oh yes and more. no vines, no uvb bulb, thats just a regular light, they dont mist it that is a water bowl near the bottom. there are three chams in there but you cant really see them at all.

I take my kids to petco pretty often (they are young and love seeing the animals), but I always try and shy away from the chameleons there. I'm afraid I would end up in a rant or in tears. At my petco they have about five babies in an enclosure just like that.

Side note, it's also basically in the front of the aisle, so they have absolutely no privacy from goggling people even if they were caged individually.

I was planning to go the event tomorrow to try and get a good deal on a cage but that's so sad about the poor babies in there

Quick side-note, I was reading your thread earlier and if you have amazon prime (being a daycare owner and mommy!), they have really great prices on setup supplies as well as things you may not be able to find at your petsmart/petco.

Good luck!

At least they're high up in the Petco I go to, so not everyone can see them immediately... but man. It's sad...

As bad as that cage is, it is still better than the one at my local Petsmart. I saw a poor veiled that was probably about 6 months the other day, in a cage that was only about 8" square. The poor thing had MBD so bad that his feet were practically in its shoulders. It could not walk or climb and was just laying on the bottom of the cage. I would guess that it only had days to live. Absolutely broke my heart!!!
