How much too much food?

What is considered too much food? I know this purely depends on age. My veiled is around 2 years old roughly and eats 8-9 extra large crickets a day, is eating this many everyday too much?

He was being fed every other day but would always seem to be looking for food so went back to everyday.

Most of us feed the adults every other, but it is really up to you. I feed my chameleons every other and about 6-7 feeders. Also, you should be providing some more variety in the diet if you are only feeding crickets.

Hey! I saw this thread and I know its old but I'm having the same thing, My cham will eat 4-5 1/2inch (4week) old crickets a day along with a few phoenix worms and a couple silkworms, I was doing the everyother day feeding but then I noticed whenever I fed him he would eat all his food right away and be looking for food all day. I have a male veiled 1 year old. Am I overfeeding him? It seems like a lot compared to other people...but I mean I don't want him to starve and be grumpy either. Any suggestions?

people here can only tell you what they do or think is right.
The only person that knows his chameleon amd it's appetite is you.

I would not worry to much about feeding to little since chameleons in nature go days if not weeks without food if needed... In captivity it's easier to overfeed them and honestly none of my reptiles ever ate or killed anything if they were not hungry.

So basically it's your job to provide food that has sufficient variety and is properly gut loaded. There's many feeders suitable as a staple, for example crickets and dubia, but one of the both along with silkworms will make a good staple diet too.
If you see a lot of feeders left at the end of the day(or day after if you feed every other day), feed less. If he finishes all every time you may want to give a bit more.

I feed my 7momth old Panther every day and give him around 5 Dubia since they won't escape the cup, along with that around 5 crickets since they will likely escape and become free range, added to that I feed a treat like a couple of silkworms or superworms.

My jax is a different story, he has a small appetite so he has his own schedule.
