How often do you guys clean your cages. Mines a 16" wide cylinder 3 ft high. Opens from the top. I just dropped a ficus in, and a big stick. Is once a week adequate to clean. I plan on just pulling the ficas and stick out, givin them a rinse and then just blastin the cage with a rinse and put the tree and stick back and be done. Good?? I have had him for one week today. I only see a couple of droppings visable. I know it is getting dirty though cause there is a lot of leaves that dropped. T

Every morning i remove any visible leaves, droppings, and use the pump sprayer on a stream setting to really soak down everything and spray off any urates that have gathered on the leaves. Once a week I check the plant pots for droppings that I missed, and check the hard to reach places for anything leftover. Then I use a WetVac to vaccum the bottom of the enclosure and pick up all those smaller particles that I cant grab.

If you set it up right, you rarely need to take stuff out of the enclosure for cleaning.

I take a wet paper towel to the bottom of the cage, after a good misting and clean up poop, leaves, and dead crix either every day or every other day, depending on how it looks and how crazy my mornings are...

Once a week, I shake the plant good, clean under the planter saucer, trim plant, wipe down screen and bulbs.....throughly pissing off Butter in the process.

When I take Clyde to his outdoor cage, his plants go outside too. That way I can clean his cage and its good for the plants. He gets to go outside 2 or 3 times a week.
