How Old Is the Average Chameleon When She Lays Her First Eggs?

I have a 6 month old female veiled chameleon. Her name is Cornelia but Corn for short. I got her about 2 months ago and she’s getting used to her new home quite nicely. She had her first shed about a week ago.
My question and the reason I’m here is to ask when a female lays her first “batch” of eggs. I have a laying pot in her cage right now but it’s taking a lot of space and drying out very quickly. I don’t want it to be in her cage if she’s going to being laying in 1 year; it’s kind of a waste of space. And of course, I do not want my Cham to become egg bound and go to expensive vet visits and have her at the risk of death!
Thanks for the help!

They can start laying at 4 months but I’d say average would be around 8 to 10 months. Keep the laying bin in and keep it so that it would hold a tunnel and not cave in on her.

Do you have any recent photos of her? We might be able to tell if she looks like she has eggs.

I’m attaching a couple links about egg laying and the laying bin.
